1) Via ATM Card

First, you have the option to get your grant via an ATM or debit card. Sassa will provide you with a card, which you can use at any South African ATM and each time when you need money, simply withdraw it from your card.

2) Via Bank Transfer

The second option is through bank transfer. You can get your grant money directly into your bank account. If you already have a bank account, then you must inform Sassa about it so that they can transfer the funds to your account.

These are the two options available for SASSA beneficiaries who previously collected their grant from post offices.

How to Change Payment Method for SASSA R350 Grant?

If you were previously receiving your granted money through post offices and now you want to get it via bank transfer or an ATM card, then you will have to notify Sassa about it. Here is how to change SRD R350 grant payment method with step by step guide:

  1. Open your internet browser and visit srd.sassa.gov.za.
  2. Now scroll down to view the payment method change option.
  3. Click on the option.
  4. Now submit your ID number to get a link via SMS.
  5. You must enter the phone number that you have entered while registering for the SASSA grant.
  6. Now click on the link and change your payment method.
  7. For the bank account option, you need to provide your bank account number and account title.

Note: SASSA does not allow any beneficiary to add someone else’s bank account. So all beneficiaries need to add their bank accounts. This is very necessary to mitigate the chances of fraud.
